Here's a fun post from years past:
Today in the Globe and Mail, there was an article on the front page of the real estate section. It was a story about up and coming neighbourhoods here in Toronto where bargains are still to be found. The photo accompanying the piece was of a house on Sixth Street in New Toronto. This particular home was just off of Lakeshore Boulevard at Islington.
Well, as it turns out, I was the selling agent on Easter Sunday. There were four offers and I represented the successful buyers.
What was peculiar about this sale was who actually selected the winning bid. Apparently, two of the offers were "very close" and a decision had to be made. When I was in the house presenting the original offer, I do what I do when there's a dog around. I fondled it. And guess what? The dog liked it. As it turns out, so did the Vendors. I was told that my clients were successful because "the dog liked me best".
Crazier things have happened in this crazy business called real estate.
