Imagine walking into the 12th Fret Music Store on the Danforth some afternoon. There are a few people around. In fact, the store is almost empty. Then imagine Eric Claptan walks in with his guitar, followed by his bass player and drummer.
You watch them set up at the back of the store. Darned if they don't mingle with everyone including you. Eric to you "how's it goin'?" You chat a bit about guitars and why he's in town. He has a Coffee Time coffee in his hand. Then he opens his case and with his band, begins to play for you (and 9 other people) for about an hour.
This happened to me yesterday. It wasn't Eric Clapton. It was only the best banjo player in the world, Jens Kruger and his band, the Kruger Brothers.
They performed as the absolute professionals they are. That is, they put on a show as if it was in Massey Hall and the joy on their faces as they played was thrilling. How lucky was I to be there?
