The Jokers received the following email from Ray Henderson (photos to the left), the brains and brawn behind the team we defeated in the final game yesterday, the Peterborough Pneumonia:
I know we said it alot on Sunday but I wanted to express how much our Game meant to us. I couldn't think of a better matchup than our two teams for the finals. The respect and comraderie on the ice was amazing. I've never been part of a more fast paced and exciting game than that. But best of all, the two squads enjoyed playing together out there. The handshake was the longest and most heartfelt in our history. Ted, I still tear up when I think of the class move to call me to centre for the picture. In our dressing room the mood was surreal. While we had that "almost ours" feeling, none of us felt upset or down about the results, only joy in what we all shared. Thank you Jokers for helping to make this the best Tournament in Pneumonia history, and thank you for being the outstanding squad and individuals we should all aspire to be.
The only word to describe his team, the league and the tournament is.... "class".
