I received a call from Phil Smith of the RE/MAX Times today. This is a company newspaper that keeps all us Re/Maxers up-to-date on the goings on of our fellow Realtors. For a company of this magnitude, it's a pretty tight knit group and this newspaper is a great source of information from other offices around the world.
Phil is working on an article on real estate blogs and asked if he could interview me about this blog. I've been known to have an opinion or two about various things so of course, I said "yes".
We chatted about why I started it? How am I benefiting from it? Where is it going in the future? What do I write about? Does it help my business? Is it easy to do? What has been the feedback? How many people read it each day? How am I promoting it?
It was very exciting to speak with someone about this. I just do it, not because I'm trying to change the world, but simply because it's great fun.
I described it to Phil as a "virtual web page". I can change and edit and add any content I choose as often as I want and it is immediately available to the world. That excites me.
