I've written here before about my old pal from Vancouver, Bob Harris. This man taught me the value of "production". He was a promoter of live music when I met him and I saw first hand how much attention he gave to "producing" a show. Apparently, it isn't all about the performance.
I can't begin to measure how important this has been to me in my development as a band leader and a Realtor.
As it turns out, I'm not the only one he's influenced. Jim Treliving is a man of business (Boston Pizza Chain) and one of the hosts on the CBC television show, "Dragon's Den". He's also an author of a new book "Decisions" where he acknowledges Bob as an important part of his business past. They were partners in a production company called Playmor Productions when they were young and daring. Here they are, Bob on the right, reconnecting at a book launch in BC recently.
I must plan a road trip soon and spend a day with Bob walking around the paths on English Bay, working on meaningful solutions to the problems of the world.
