Karen and I spent 6 hours on Saturday and Sunday standing on the front porch of 831 Logan Avenue and receiving "hundreds" of visitors from all over the city. The occasion was the most popular open house in the city this past weekend. It was great fun chatting with every conceivable character you can imagine. We slept well last night. These open houses are mightily exhausting.
The visitors were gleeful as they arrived and departed this gem of a house, many having walked by it hundreds of times over the years wondering what it looked like inside. Mr. Kowalski, the owner of 51 years had often sat in his front porch watching the world go by and he apparently left quite an impression on the community.
The comments were endless..."amazing walk through the past", "everything's at least level", "did someone actually live here?", "the wood trim is amazing", "are the appliances included?" (see photo for relevance of that last comment),
"when are offers?" and so on.
By the way, in the Philco fridge, which is working just fine, is one beer.... and it is not a stubby.
