I don't have a category for this entry. It's sort of music related but not really. Yes, I will be playing banjo and that's almost musical (at least that's what I'm often told) but it's not really about that.
In a few hours, I'll be on a bus with my Joker Hockey Club, destination the Sudbury Laugh Out Loud Comedy Festival. Oh my God! Is this going to be a crazy time!
The Jokers have been assigned the task of adding a collective element of hockey insanity to the proceedings and believe me, that's right up our alley. We may not be able to play hockey very well but contributing to the insanity department? No problem.
According to the program: "Established in Toronto in 2002, this is without a doubt the most entertaining team in the hockey world. Besides being regular competitors in the annual Exclaim! Hockey Summit (a hockey/arts tournament/festival held in Toronto) the team has performed on ice and on stage in Canada and around the world. The Jokers have become well known for their puckish pranks, quick-witted attack, and slapstick defense. Whether it's on ice or on stage, they give 110% and bring laughter to every rink they rock. The Jokers Hockey Club features a line-up including Sean Cullen, Steve Levine, Jay Malone and Tyler Stewart of the Barenaked Ladies."
Hockey game in the afternoon and a fab show Saturday night. Tickets are expensive but they're a hot item in downtown Sudbury. Banjo meets Belly Laughs.
